Release History
MIKE OPERATIONS' major advantage is its continuous improvement. Any user with valid SMA can get new features each time a new version is released (i.e. every 3 months).
MIKE OPERATIONS 2019.1 (2019-02)¶
Below are short descriptions of the most significant news in Release 2019.1 for MIKE OPERATIONS' modules and user interfaces.
Module/Type |
New Feature |
Groundwater Models |
MIKE OPERATIONS can now import data from FEFLOW and MODFLOW result files. New tools have been developed for: (1) importing water table maps, and (2) importing water table timeseries. |
Database Utility |
Support for PostgreSQL 9.0, 9.1, 9.2 and 9.3 has been discontinued as these PostgreSQL versions are being decommissioned. |
Maintenance |
Several improvements to the Maintenance tools in MIKE OPERATIONS have been implemented. These are related to the removal of orphan blobs and cleanup of initial conditions. A new task category called "Maintenance" has also been created in the Job Manager. |
Documentation |
Documentation has been moved online, which will help both in the support process and in sharing information. The desktop help will only be available if installed during installation. |
MIKE OPERATIONS 2019.0 (2018-11)¶
More than 129 defects and enhancements have been implemented.
- Database usage reporting A new tool was created to report the usage of the database. This shows all the tables in the database and their size. Some tables can be further investigated (BLOB, etc. )
- Report tool New tools and Job tasks to generate reports automatically.
- MIKE 11 adapter improvements It is now possible to run MIKE 11 with MIKE 1D engine.
- Groundwater integration .NET APIs where developed in FEFLOW and can not be used to work with model result file (.dac) using the Script Manager.
- Performance improvement The time required to add long timeseries to table was significantly decreased. Showing timeseries associated to features (from a map view) was made more efficient.
- MIKE OPERATIONS Web Several improvement were made to MIKE OPERATIONS Web. A new panel was added to view documents from document manager. This makes the sharing of report and other data easier. A new panel allows the user to investigate the jobs that are running in the background. Configuration and themes were merged in one list to ease the navigation and free some space in the UI.

MIKE OPERATIONS 2017.2 (2017-10)¶
-
DESSIN ESS Evaluation Framework: The DESSIN ESS Evaluation Framework was implemented in MIKE Workbench. This framework is a structured approach to measure changes in ecosystem services (ESS). DESSIN helps decision-makers to make the best choice by evaluating the effects that innovative solutions have on freshwater ecosystems and their services. The tool identifies and measures the ecosystem services that are provided to humans by nature. More information can be found online.
-
New Workflow manager: The new MIKE Workbench manager is based on Windows Workflow Foundation (WF). This allows the configuration of workflows, which are a series of distinct activities. This new manager comes with a comprehensive library of activities, both generic ones (as provided by the .NET Framework) and custom ones for MIKE Workbench. This new manager thus provides a intuitive new way of designing solutions.
-
MIKE OPERATIONS Web improvements: Some major improvements were made in MIKE OPERATIONS Web. DHI has focused on improving the user experience and stability. DHI strongly advices users to upgrade MIKE OPERATIONS Web systems, especially for systems working with real time models.
MIKE OPERATIONS 2017.3 (2018-01)¶
More than 86 defects and enhancements has been implemented.
-
Database maintenance job tasks: Databases can grow significantly in real time systems. It is important to have the right tools to manage their size and thus find the right balance between performances and available data. Several tasks were created in the Job Manager so support this process:
-
Delete Change Log (i.e. logs created each time an object is edited)
-
Database vacuum (actively erase "delete data" from the database)
-
Deleting raster time step (temporal raster in GIS Manager)
-
Delete time series' timestep
-
High performance simulation deletion
-
-
Troubleshooting wizard: A new trouble shooting wizard was created to help users identify and resolve problems with their systems. Based on the MIKE OPERATIONS' customers feedbacks, a list of 14 common problems were identified and are now managed through this wizard. This list will grow, based on future issues encountered by users. This form also helps the user in investigating logs, getting support and finding information.
-
Error handling: Some significant improvements were carried out to improve the handling of errors and ease the user experience when some unexpected issue arises.
-
Performance improvement: Some performance improvement were achieved for Group handling (e.g. folders in all managers)
MIKE OPERATIONS 2017.4 (2018-04)¶
As part of MIKE OPERATIONS Release 2017.4, more than 86 defects and enhancements has been implemented.
-
HEC-RAS adaptor: A new adaptor was developed in the Scenario Manager to work with 1D/2D HEC-RAS models. The version Those models can be executed and analysed natively (GIS, timeseries, linked models, optimization, indicators, time schedule, initial conditions update, etc.)
